Up to 40 (forty) Hours toward Certification through the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy

We are offering a six day seminar (up to 40 hours total).
The seminar will start on Tuesday, May 9th, 2017 at 1:00 PM and will end on Sunday, May 14th, 2017 at 12:00 PM.

THE WIZARD OF OZ movie (1939) is the highest rated and most watched movie of all times. Its story embodies our most enduring values and raises provocative human issues of power vs. powerlessness, good vs. bad, and escaping vs. embracing your roots.

As most of the story is set “within a dream” and “over the rainbow,” the story and its characters offer rich action explorations around Dream Work, Power, Belonging, Fallibility, and Hope.

JOIN US ON THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD with action methods and Dream Work. We will bring our stories to life to discover ourselves more fully and to re-create or try on a future best self. Find your RED SHOES; meet and explore the COWARDLY LION, the TIN MAN, and the SCARECROW. Consider and argue with the GOOD AND BAD WITCHES of the North and South.

This workshop will introduce participants to Dream Work and Positive Psychology Action Methods (DWAPPAM) utilizing a diverse variety of frameworks and skills such as: Psychodrama, Sociodrama, Sociometry, Playback Theatre, and Positive Psychology.

Throughout the seminar, theoretical frameworks and their action explorations will be both demonstrated and practiced. Within a safe environment, participants will create, re-create, and explore images, emotions, colors, characters, and dreams for expansion and healing. As we bring our personal inner worlds and shared collective worlds together through play and spontaneity, we can choose, change and transform lives….and AS WE CHANGE the WORLD CHANGES US.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Describe and demonstrate the basic elements, techniques and stages associated with classical psychodrama, action methods, and Dream Work.
2. Demonstrate, understand, and employ the main aspects of experiential work: self-reflection, self-evaluation, and integration of personal and group learning.
3. Explore in action the Positive Psychology basic concepts (and research) about Character Strengths Positive Emotions, Mindset, and Resiliency.
4. Understand and elevate your own empowerment through story, changing your narrative, Dream Work, and Positive within a supportive group environment.
5. Integration – “There’s no place like home” (Meaning/Purpose/Pleasure) = Finding Your Wizard
